Got the tailgate and fenders painted this week. Will try and hang the fenders tomorrow night and then start on the hood.

The bezels on the taillights are nice and I'm glad to see you put the fender emblem on before installing the fender (lesson learned on my truck).

Lol. Seems like something I would do.

Im getting nervous getting ready to install my grill on the truck tonight. Its after market and is such a tight fit. Not sure how its going to go on without scratching my new paint. Ive been dreading installing the front clip. Lots of tape and fingers crossed!

Got 1 fender on. Struggled with the inner wheel well but finally got it on and all lined up. It’s impossible not scratching things installing all this. I’m kind of over it. Used to get really upset when I had a tiny Knick on a panel. Now I’m just ready to be done with this auto body project. Wish I would of left truck with original paint and just built a nice hot rod. Lesson learned. Dam close at least!

I can relate to everything you said. It is nerve wracking assembling a nice panel and having to get rough with it. I hope I don't have to tear either of my inner fenders or the front grille off, none of that stuff fit good and I didn't do mine any favors.

Sprint, I hope the front end never has to come off again also!! Such a pain! It's amazing how soft the Universal Clear is. Does it get harder with age and or UV..? Seems like it scratches so easy. Its really bad with having a white sealer coat, the white just shows through every scratch. Its too late now being that I only have the hood left to paint, but can you tint the SPI epoxy sealer coat with base..? Just a thought I had that may help with small scratches. Not sure if that's acceptable or not?

Clear is its weakest right after sprayed and gains durability as it cures, UV aids the curing. You can only tint SPI epoxy with other colors of SPI epoxy, so it wouldn't match. Even if you could tint it you would still want to stay with white for better compatibility/pop with orange.

Got the other fender hung and grill on. Wasn’t too bad with the help of my wife. Now I’m finally starting to sit back and relax a little. This project is coming together. I’m getting excited thinking about being able to drive it again.

Finally got my hood finished last night. All the painting is officially done! It was kind of weird late last night after I shot the 4th and final coat of clear and realizing that Im done. No more sessions in the booth! Been one heck of a project, but I learned a ton from all the guys on this forum and am really happy with how things turned out. Hopefully I can install the hood on Sunday if all goes well.

Been a while since last post. Truck is done. In the middle of rebuilding rear and adding POSI. Truck was really fun to drive this summer. Was a lot of fun getting compliments on the truck and turning a couple heads. This forum was awesome for getting me through this project. Learned so much! Thanks to everyone for all the advice and support! Now to find another project if the wife will let me. We're expecting a little girl in April, so I may have to put things on pause for a while. Thanks again!!

Came out beautiful! I'm working on a gear and posi swap in a 69 right now - it hasn't been too hard. I've got about 5 hours into it and maybe 1 or 2 more.
