5HP 2 stage Quincy compressor at rural king

For those that are using copper lines, how or what are you doing to clean them after using flux and solder. Is it a contamination issue for air going through the lines. I cut out my pex today and started replacing my lines from compressor with 3/4" copper

Think of it this way. Anything in your lines except air can be an issue.

Well guys, I have to install my m60 filter after the shut off shown under the yellow 1/2" dewalt reel, but other than that the job is done. I have a mess in the shop to clean up. I also have to move the old compressor to another building on our farm. The Quincy install is done though!

I have 1 little leak u can't seam to seal at the couple after the reg. Maybe I'll fix it. I've tried and it's been persistent. I can't believe nine of the soldered joints leak though since I've never done this. I also can't believe how much water the loopty-loop drain system off the head catches.

Thanks for all the help.

Clean copper doesn't need flux...to late now tho..

What are you saying? That the burnt flux is in the lines now? I have the m60 at the very end for painting. It should stop any or that crap. Would have been nice to know. I was under the impression flux was always necessary. Guess not.

I don't know about the flux being in the line...I suppose a small amount but would get filtered out... I've sweated thousands of joints on HVAC with never using flux. I've even pumped small amounts of nitrogen thru lines to help keep clean...I think what you got is fine..good job

I used flux on all my 50+ feet of copper. No problems with contamination. I built and installed my new home built compressor pump/motor setup and re-used some existing copper line and didn't have any green buildup or anything inside the copper ( after 9 years with cheap aluminum Craftsman pump) I think was eluded to. You will be fine.

As far as the Motor guard M60, I have recommended to several friends doing paint work. Everyone thinks that a Home Depot water trap 2 feet off the compressor is all that's needed for painting. I've Had several nice paint jobs accomplished with a 50ft hose attached to compressor then to the M60 then 50ft of hose to the gun.

I got a complaint just last month from my neighbor about contamination all over suspension parts he was painting. Looked at the filter I got him and the element was good. Looked closer and the problem was when I said USE ONLY THIS HOSE AFTER THE FILTER, that got lost after 2 years. He was using the hose from directly off his compressor that was filled with water.
Well problem solved.
Keep track of that final filter paint hose.
