It only took a month to do this quick partial paint job. I was hoping a couple weeks. Never fails there was more to do than I was hoping. SPI epoxy, Turbo, SPI Dark Red, Euro. I only did the red. Found lacquer primer, nitrostan putty, bondo over rust holes, lacquer paint job, then a urethane BC/CC job over that.

Looks like you made real good time on it. Lot of work to do in a month. Looks good.:) FOr the life of me though I can't understand why he didn't have you do the whole car. That grey doesn't work IMO.

My helper did most of it  I'm getting slow, but I was not expecting to do any patches. As many of these as I have done, I am still hopeful it won't be that bad only to find out differently, but actually, on this one, the metal was in great condition for it's age. This guy buys and sells a lot of classic cars. He had me do some minor repairs to it a couple months ago, and decided he wanted to keep this one for a while. He was mainly concerned about the color mismatch on the doors and fenders that someone pointed out to him. The bubbles everywhere didn't really bother him :) I told him the only way I would do the red is strip it. If he does keep it for a while (which I doubt), he will be back for the gray when someone else points out the bubbles besides me :)

My man, job well done !!!

It took me a whole month just to do one fender and you do a whole car, lol Thanks for sharing and all your advice with my current project.

All the best to you and yours,
Mike

How did u strip the paint?
I stripped the most I could with a razor blade and heat gun, and some with 8" 80#, on a buffer. The hood had been stripped and refinished with urethane. I used the 80# on it, but the sides had a lot of material including lacquer. Lacquer and enamel tend to plug the paper with any heat at all. The razor blade works much faster than sanding when there is a lot of material.

Yep, I use the razor blade heat method whenever there is a build up of material to remove.
