50 fleetline

All good answers boys. :)Everybody gets a gold star...stick out your foreheads and lemme get my hammer:p. Thing that struck me first was the waviness of the body especially in that last pic. Looks like someone sanded it with a DA or a 6" soft block, instead of blocking it. Other thing that struck me was that it was either thrown together or not a lot of effort on that "last 10%" like TK said, to make it work. Like someone said lets get a bunch of premium components, put em on this truck, and make a bunch of money.

Oh and for the love of God people, stop putting 19, and 20 inch wheels on stuff. Truck I'm working on guy is gonna do that. Nothing that screams "pimp my ride" more than stupid 19 or 20 inch wheels. Again just me but old stuff just doesn't look right with it.

yeah first thing that turned me off is the wheels and interior. I like wheels that have depth. Those wheels look like my old hot wheels toy cars, wheel is flush with the tire. I'd rather shorten the axle and get a different backspacing for a wheel with a deeper dish look. Probably my biggest turnoff with car builds. But, to each's own.

when using corvette suspension i have little choice on wheels . almost impossible to do a deep dish wheel . but my main reason is to make the fleetline look smaller . i don't care for the big wheels on high setting trucks and stuff .

the gmc has c-7 front and c4 rear. no choice on wheels .

this was about all we could do on the 57 . no way for a deep dish .

I don't mind the bigger wheels any more as long as they don't have rubber bands for tires. It is getting to the point of not being able to buy 15" tires anywhere but Coker in the near future. Shine, is the reason for the no offset wheels because of the width of the Vette suspension only, or is there other factors?

it is the width that sets the offset. you start narrowing irs and you really open a box of terds to deal with . not to mention the $$$ . frame has to be narrowed and the car tubbed just for stock setup . no rubber bands . going for a luxury pro-touring style car . that's the reason for fordors .

Whats wrong with that size combo?

Tire options get pretty limited with 17 and some sizes of 18. Much better selection for 19 especially if you are looking for a 345 tire. I went with 18 front and 19 rear on my 69 Camaro for that reason.

as long as they are big and littles . i saw a 72 vette on fb with at least 19's on it front/back . looked like shit .

Crazy i remember when 19 tire were hard to find in late 90s.

there is no difference between a fleetline 2 dr and fordor other than the handle . that and a luxury car is a 4 dr.
