4000 vs 4100???

Was mentioned on here some where that some guys(Jim C) preferred 4100 over 4000.
I can spray and do use 4000 in my area. What is the reason some like 4100 better?

Its the low VOC solvent that makes it spray different.
What you hear is true as some don't like and some prefer the 4100.
It depends on gun and how you spray as to witch one is best for you.

I know this is an old thread, but could you expand a little? A couple years ago, when I ordered some epoxy, I asked about this. The answer I got was use the 4000 4.4-VOC, unless I'm in a regulated area. But, I didn't ask, "why not"? (I'm in Idaho).

I am fixin' to finally do some painting in the near future. I would like to be somewhat environmentally friendly and use the 4100, unless you have a good reason not to use it. I'm a first time user, spraying with a Tekna Pro-lite. Also, are there any issue with using the 0 - VOC reducer in your black base coat?

First, the 4100 is fine to use in place of 4000, we actually have a lot of shops in non-VOC areas that like it, so it’s a matter of choice.

To save the planet and use a 0-VOC reducer. with the black base, save your self some money and buy Omni or Nason black, as this is crazy unless your in a required area.

Growing up "Environmentally Friendly" meant not dumping the contents of your gun on the ground when you got done spraying. :) Now it means water based basecoat, low voc reducers, and getting rid of those darn farting cows. Funny how the Greenies want to regulate flatulent cows here in the US but there is no mention made of what needs to be done in China where in some cities it's like living in a chemical soup, the smog is so bad. Guess it's just us who are the problem. Anyways sorry for the rant.
