2K Primer sand thru

Sanded thru primer to filler. Did not recoat with primer, but recoated with epoxy. What would cause the sand thru to show up after the epoxy is applied? Should I have blended in with 2k primer over the sand thru before I applied the epoxy?

How many epoxy coats did you shoot and what tip size on your spray gun?

The epoxy may show a difference on the substrate but that doesn't necessarily mean it didn't seal and build up properly. Body filler will suck solvents from the epoxy and will end up with a different finish than the surrounding areas.

If you sand and it preps good then you should be good to go I believe. If in doubt shoot more of the same 2k primer and the panel should all look and feel the same.

It was just a good wet coat of epoxy before I appliy base coat.Thanks for the response. I believe shooting more 2k primer before I laid down the epoxy may have changed the outcome.
