2011 DODGE 2500 ROCKER PANEL REPLACEMENT

I have a friend who needs rockers and cab corners on his 2011 Dodge 2500 regular cab truck, I looked at the truck Sunday and have never worked on one like that. The cab corners and rockers have no seam in the rear and he said the rockers don't get drilled out at the door flange and said that the new rockers only go half way to the door flange, I told him that the line he was talking about was the stick on rock guard on the bottom of the rockers. Well that is why I am here to ask the guys who know, Any comments are most appreciated.

I just purchased these.

clear clean steel that is definitely heavy enough to weld, they look zinc plated. I was planning to cut the damage off of the rocker, brace behind these, then cut and weld in place. So far the trouble is removing the braces for the step that looks like a usual 13mm headed bolt thread size, but the heads are rusted down to less than a 9 but bigger than an 8. If they come off I do not see them going back on.

What it looks like I am doing is cutting a piece of 1/8 inch steel, running it from the weld point of the bottom of the rocker, which is where the bottom bolts for the step are, and running it on an angle to the top corner of the rocker. That will support whatever might get stepped on with the slip ons and then fully weld the top.

Got spoiled working on first gen cars with buku replacement panels.

Got a friend with a ford raptor, same problem, wants to find someone to do the rockers. I told him he will find someone next year again too because I doubt most shops will do it complete.

Mopar part numbers for 2011 regular cab unisides:

RT: 68144982AB
LT: 68144983AB

They aren't cheap, but neither is skilled fabrication. There is no question which way I would repair it, but everyone has to figure the value of their own time.

are you talking about doing the entire repair or cutting up the entire side and just using the rocker portion?

its more than I paid for the whole truck.

I am sure glad I don't live in the rust belt. Never seen rusted rockers on the "newer" body styles down here. I replaced a partial uniside on a 2009 crew cab because of accident damage. Got the part used from LKQ. They cut the cab down the middle, glass and all, and sent me half :)

JC, Raybucks makes pretty good quality rust repair panels. I've used them in the past and they were better quality than most. Looked it up for your the truck and they have what you would need. Cab corners and rocker repair panels.

Here is what they offer for 2011 Dodge 2500's. Hope this helps.:) Scroll down to the last four on the page, rockers and cab corners for both sides.

On all the trucks, or mostly just the Rams? All the trucks here unless they are taken care of and washed pretty often are prone to fenders, rockers and cab corners. The salt just makes a mess of body parts but it sure makes plenty of work.

They had the entire bottoms for my 2003 van, but just sell Key parts, like carparts.com

They do not sell direct, but are a much better source to at least see what is available. (Like using rockauto.com as a part number search engine)

Those were the rockers that were 260 for the Avalanche.

*edit* Just went this route because RayBucks website says there are 14 day delays, so I was afraid to order from them.

Got to the other side, same damage on the other rocker, of course, same lower front quarter damage, went to key parts, searched driver side part numbers, googled them, found key parts selling direct on ebay without the middle man. Went back to carparts since they gave me a coupon for the grill screw up, about the same price, but ship date was 12-30.
