So the first modification of the crossmember where you added the bevel didn't produce enough clearance? Just trying to understand the process and follow this build.

I believe the notch is in the engine cross member and the modified cross member painted black is the trans crossmember
Nice job turning something undesirable into a car that's cool. I really like your rear spoiler mod. I'm with Bob on the front end smiling. One happy car.
Buddy had one in High School. We were out doing slow motion donuts (4 cylinder car) on a dirt road intersection. Came out of the 3rd donut and a County Sherrif car was watching us. He let him off with a warning since the officer was young enough to remember being a kid. Today's stinking computer world you can't do or get away with anything. Your car reminds me of a very fun care free time.
I had not planned on putting the Mustang II on a rotisserie but the more I thought about it I could not just leave the undercarriage looking like this. Brian and I (mostly Brian) fit it on the rotisserie yesterday.
Yesterday I sprayed 3 coats of SPI orange waiting 45 min between coats and today I sprayed 3 coats of SPI Universal clear waiting 30 min between coats.
Yesterday before Brian went home he got the body ready for paint. Finished taping, moved it in the booth and wiped it down with SPI wax and grease remover.
I got up early and was at the shop at 5:30 and mixed up a cup of reduced SPI white epoxy and sprayed a sealer coat. Around 9 I will start spraying orange.
