Hey all, been a while since I posted here.
Is this the first moto guzzi with spi on it? Not sure with bike master Jim around.
Painted a tank and side covers for my cousin, translation, lots of free labor.
As dropped off
Stripped and a little bodywork.
Then epoxy primed, sanded, spray black base sand, another coat of base and clear, looked good at that point. Sanded clear and lay white stripes with base left over from past job. Then catastrohe. Note to self, don't be too cheap to pay what local suppliers want for a roll of fineline tape, you only end up buying it anyways and cost yourself a lot of added work. Paint bled and cleaned with some thinner, since black was all cleared, Well either smeared it cleaning up paint bleed, or cleaning tank. Of course don't notice anything in dimly lit garage till start laying first coat of clear. Now PO's, hammer on a second coat, and get some hangers. Get it outside later, and I somehow managed to get white all over the place on the black.
So more friggen sanding. Spend the money for the right friggen tape, ended respraying both black and the stripes. Clear layed out nice and flat, but even with parts hanging get some dirt nibs in the garage. So a buff job coming up, Yeah even More sanding. 2500 cut out almost everything.
Products- Spi black epoxy, Spi universal clear, Pro-spray basecoat, code toyota 202 black, from chads bodyshop in New Troy, MI.
And here it is.
