Last week I went with Bruce Sizemore to Ohio to pick up his Pinto that he won the NHRA Modified World Championship in 1975. It was powered by a 300 Ford 6 cylinder engine with two 351 Cleveland heads cut and welded back together, Hilborn fuel injection and a Doug Nash 5 speed transmission. It was in the corner of a shop in Michigan and brought to Ohio by friends of Bruce. Bruce is building a 300 with a new head that he is developing. We will be doing the body and paint work.

That's pretty cool. Just like with vega's & monza's, pintos that got turned into race cars early in life on average lived much longer lives than ones that rusted out from daily use.

So I guess your old race car will have company for a little while.

That’s a really cool old race car!
I hope to see it make a pass someday.
I love manual trans cars!
It will be interesting to see how that 6 performs with some modern clutch technology...
Thanks for sharing!!!

Amazing what the mind can think up. 2 (cleveland) heads better then 1.
Welding & machineing 2 cast iron heads together must've been challenge.
Why is clutch pedal mounted upside down?
Great & beyond toy right there.

That is the way Pro Stock cars are built. The master cylinder is under the floor. You can see the top of it in front of the seat where the carpet was cut out. This was a Pro Stock chassis that was used to race in Modified eliminator.
