1972 Nova

That car looks great, I love the euro clear also, I have went as far as 3 weeks to buff and it still buffed pretty good.

done and delivered. love this color. one of those colors where a picture just doesn't do it justice. think the key with the euro is that it has to be finished out well with 2500/3000. atleast for me anyway using mequiars diamond cut and a wool pad.

think she stands pretty tall for an ol drag car.

Fantastic!!!...how many coats of clear did you use? did you begin cutting it with 1500 paper, or use anything coarser? looks great!!

thanks. 3 coats and started with 1500 then went over it with some trizact 3000.

I bet it will hold up well!!! You're probably going to have a lot more racers knocking on your door soon.

hope so!!

spraying, i think they are pretty close. euro is a lot harder to run imo.

I may have to give the euro a shot. car looks fantastic!

As far as you just knocking it down with 1500 and then 3000, how straight did it come out? Urethane wave I mean?

actually wasnt too much. obviously there is going to be some with only using 1500, but turned out nice.

honestly dont know.

we pulled the quarters and outer wheelhouses out about an inch along with rolling the edge. clearance is nice.

I have to pick my tire size before I get to the fabrication stage on my 72 so I can dial in the width of the rearend and where to locate the rails. I was thinking of using a 30" tire with 4.10 gears or a 28" tire with 3.73's so I was curious what size was on that car as the wheelwells look like they're full! 29's or 30's I bet

i would set up for 30's . you can always go smaller tire with no work but if you set up with 28 your kinda stuck with it.

i'll ask him next time i see him. hes by quite often now! yes they fill it up...love it!

OJ which one did you get?? The #5100 (2.1 VOC ) or the standard #5000

I would suggest you run a practice panel or two.. It sprays much differently than the Universal.. You will also need to see how much if any reducer you are gong to need.. If you are spraying the 5000 you will surely need some.. The 5100 you may not. Just depends on you and what results you want to achieve etc

From what I have read on this board it seems the popular consensus is 4:1:1. I'm gonna start there.

I have the 5100. I don't have anything to really "test" on. And this is going on a golf cart.

I'm not looking for a thick base of clear to cut into. I only want to d-nib where needed and ship. Euro was the only alternative in this as the price was perfect and the results seem to speak for themselves!

OJ, the 5100 is ready to spray at 4:1 with the correct activator. I would only add reducer if you are having trouble spraying it. Adding additional reducer could make it a little more prone to run. It also will make it lay down thinner per coat reducing overall film build. (You may need an additional coat to maintain minimum film build of 2.0 mils after sanding and buffing.)

I run my first pass at 4:1 and see how it lays out for me.

I am using the "very slow" activator.
