1969 Chevy C10

Haven't had a lot of time to work on this truck lately but did get the cab sprayed today.

Reinstalled the fuel tank with new neck and floor grommets.
The fuel gauge was acting weird and pointing way past the full mark by near 2 inches. Turned out to be the spade connector on the sending line. Replaced it and the needle dropped back into position.

Installed the steering wheel and started the truck up.

Removed the bed, put the rear tires back on and took it off the jack stands. Glass guy is coming tomorrow to put the windshield and rear window back in.

Decided to wash some of the gunk off the frame and axle.

Painted the interior door panels. Decided to go with the dark blue center and black perimeter since the carpet, steering wheel, dash and knobs are black.
Still had some Pro Spray Ford Ebony Black left in a can so used that.

Painted the arm rests black also. These are not clear coated but the door panels have 3 coats of Euro Clear on them:

Painted the hinges, screws, bolts, etc that I will need for installing the transmission cover and cowl grill. Also painted the Sun Visor mounts, ash tray and glove box door. I will post pictures as they get installed.

Thanks guys, you are too kind.
Yes, the owner stopped by yesterday and was drooling all over it. I had to say no when he started talking about swapping rear axles, adding disc brakes and air suspension.
Told him I need to get it painted and out of my garage, so I can finish the other project sitting in the front yard and finally get back to working on my GTX.

Another set back.
Started installing trim on left fender and they didn't send the right clips! Tried passing off some plastic with double sided tape (black and red in picture) on it instead of the metal clips.
I couldn't even figure out how the plastic ones were supposed to fit on the molding if I were to use them.
Waiting on LMC to send me the correct clips.

Got the glove box emblem installed:

Installed the driver's door and got it aligned, after what seemed to be endless adjusting.
Installed the door handle, lock and catch assembly so to get the door closed at the right place. Then installed the new door seal and slammed it shut.

After a while I started reassembling the rest of the door. I could only go so far as waiting for door glass seals and proper clips for lower trim molding.

Carpet arrived today as well.

I could point to a dozen flaws but keep reminding myself it's just driver and he wanted to simply clear coat over the rust at first.
Carpet went in today. Complete with two dirt spots from me kneeling on the floor and then the carpet. LOL

Sill plates installed. Then I located all the seat mounting holes and used a soldering iron to enlarge and seal the holes in the carpet. Did the same for the seat belt mounting holes.

Wow you are doing a great job on that truck. When I saw all that rust I thought your were working on a Mustang. Now you know what Brian goes through with our projects. I could use you working in my shop.
Good luck getting back to working on your project. I have been working on my 1968 Coupe for 16 years and it still not on the road.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the kind words.

Rusty, I couldn't hold a candle to the work you and Brian do, but boy the thought of hands on training in your shop sure is enticing.

Just got back from preaching a week long camp meeting on the Navajo Reservation. No cellphone service the entire time. Couldn't believe how addicted I have become to instant access to everything. LOL

I have a few boxes of parts that arrived while I was gone so hopefully I can get back to work on the truck Monday.
