1969 Chevy C10

I would say used will be your only option, I've never seen one of those plates for sale. The one like Sprint posted is the only one I can remember seeing in a parts book. I checked my parts trucks, and none of them have that reinforcement plate.
(As a side note, I don't think that is the original mirror, it was most likely like the one in the diagram I posted.)

I agree with you on the mirror being wrong.
The original door on the passenger side had this:

The owner wants to go with the newer style mirrors and the driver's door mirror looked to him like the better option because of the 2 screw mounting.

Baby steps, while I am still waiting for parts.

Eckler's Truck Parts in Florida has me on the rampage. I filed a BBB complaint against them for lack of customer service as they had quit communicating with me over a damaged part I received. It only took two days and all of the sudden I was worthy of an email from one of the department heads. Of course, I still don't have the parts and another week has passed.

To give you an idea of how bad it is, the department head said I had 3 parts still on back order from June and that they don't do exchanges on damaged parts. She said I have to return the damaged one and reorder another. She did send me a FedEx prepaid return label for the damaged part. Then I got an email reply from customer service agent to a request I sent in three weeks ago asking how many and which parts were still on back order. This email said, "all parts have been shipped and received." So I copy and pasted the Department Head's email saying I had 3 parts yet to be shipped and sent a reply to the moron telling me everything shipped. That was earlier this week and so far, crickets.

Then today, I get a notice that they received my damage part and were sending me another one that should ship today or tomorrow. The right hand has no idea with the left hand is doing.

Sorry for the rant!

Seems customer service has really gone downhill for many companies, failing to answer the phone or an email. Even some of my local companies I have been doing business with for decades, in some cases, are consistently dropping the ball. Getting parts has become my biggest problem, sometimes waiting weeks for one part needed to complete a job. Never seen anything like it.

Back when Ecklers was a corvette only outfit, they were pretty good. I haven’t used them in many years.

I am just now seeing this and I read every post. You are an inspiration. I haven't touched my cab in about 6 months for anymore than a few minutes and for a second there you inspired me to do it. Till my arms reminded me they are ready to fall off.

Been working on someone else's cab every spare moment for 7 months. Hopefully will be finished with his this week. Time for a much deserved and needed break...

I spent 4 hours fighting to get this grille assembled and on the truck.

The shape of the aluminum didn't match very well with the side bracket holes or form. They are riveted on to the side brackets and it was a monster job to get it done.
Then when I went to put the parking lights assemblies in, the tab cut outs for the lenses were 1/8" off.
Finally get the insert fastened into place and start mounting the grille on the truck. Ugh, only 3 out of the 4 bolts in each bracket will line up. Then when I get it all bolted in and center support in place, the top two center mounting bolt holes don't line up.

The holes are almost a 1/2" in from where the bracket holes are. Notice the bracket holes seem centered or very close to it.

After reading yours and many others remarks on grille fitment I feel really lucky with mine.

One thing I did different from stock is use nice button head allen bolts instead of rivets for the side brackets. This allowed some manipulation to get all the bolts started and then start tightening the brackets to the grille, then brackets to the truck. It was a still a bear though.

In the center I had to pull as hard as I could to flex the grille into place. My grille is chrome plated steel though, not as easy to manipulate. The center grille holes on mine while very hard to line up did work good with helping the grille fit the hood when closed.

The hood fitment is my concern as well. I measured the hood from the locking pin to the front edge and sure enough the grill needs to come out to the original hole location to work.
I will work on it some more.

Crash, you are probably right but a bit too late. ;)

I was able to get the grille into position and install the top bolts.

Installed the Chevrolet decals:

Of course the new bumpers he brought to me didn't include the bolts. The rear bumper needs mounting brackets as well. So I placed the order today but NOT with Ecklers. LOL

I went through all of the same struggles with the grille on our current 69 project. It's an aftermarket aluminum grille and aftermarket fenders. If I ever do another classic vehicle, I'll search for one that is all original.
