1965 Mustang rust repair

I have the major bodywork finished on the roof.

The doors were bought along time ago off of ebay and they don't fit. The owner bought another set from NPD and with a little work they will fit. The grain is better on these than the Dynacorn door I have for another project.

Do you remember any markings from the box they came in? the ones i have now are from AP, which i think means Apex made them.

I'll be interested to see what you guys need to do to them. What I noticed so far is the vent window is real tight on one side (I forget which), so tight I'm wondering if i'll be able to angle it to the right spot. By angle I mean the in and out direction, at the top.

[Edit], its the PS that was tight, the inner bracket protrudes into the opening, Heres a picture, oh and I hope you don't my pictures in the middle of your thread, but in case you haven't shown a light in there yet, it may be worth a look:

This was the other "head Scratcher" i've uncovered so far:

Although I'm not sure if all the doors of that brand are the same way, or just the one sent to me.

The other side was fine:

You always test fit vent windows on any aftermarket doors even Camaros. We have cut and rewelded a lot of doors to get the vent windows to fit.

Yes, I'm not looking forward to the "ship in the bottle" type welding to fix the above bracket, lol.

Brian has been working on the undercarriage and finished the torque boxes he made. Before he welded the outer panel he brushed epoxy inside

This was the first time we had it on the rotisserie and Brian cleaned up the bottom and welded some of the seams.

The frame had some dents so Brian cut them out and replaced the metal.

I can hardly believe how far this car has come. Every now and then I go back to the start of the thread just to remind myself it is the same car.
Great work as always and thanks for posting. I enjoy all your threads very much.

I do have a question though. In seeing all of the epoxy you are applying I have to imagine that some of it is burning off as part of the welding process. What do you do to remedy this situation in those hard to access areas so rust doesn't once again become an issue at a later date? Thank you. Mitch.

There is nothing you can do on the back side.
