150 Grit Info if you use it

I have tried several different brands of sandpaper but this Norton 150 grit really does the job!
It has bite for blocking that lasts and lasts and it doesn't need cleaning every 3 or so minutes. A275OP is the Norton number.
I like to use my air blower to blow off my paper every so often to keep in clean but for some reason this one doesn't hardly ever need it.

Sometimes or most of the time I start off on my first coats of Epoxy after filler work with Sunmight 120 to get it down and straight and then go to this 150.
I am sure some of you have some better techniques but I thought I would share this Norton information.

I really want to try it out on Black Diamond the Best Blocks ever

I did a lot of testing with various brands of sandpaper, during the development of the Black Diamond Sanding Blocks.
One thing that stood out is that the "premium" brand of sandpaper, I.e. Norton, 3M, Mirka, Sunmight, did not leave residue on the polycarbonate base.
Cheaper paper like Dura Gold and the no-name brand from my local jobber left residue on the base that had to be cleaned off. It does clean off just fine with a laquer thinner/alcohol mixture or Goof Off, but it is a hassle.

It look like you will get to try those block very soon. UPS says they will arrive tomorrow and I will ship by Monday.

Same here Dean. I have several rolls of Dura Gold just setting in the cabinet for the reason you mentioned.

Naphtha or 710 is good for glue, less aggressive than lacquer thinner.
That’s true the solvent wax and grease remover will remove it but it’s still a waste of time for me. I try to read what works best weather it be sandpaper or tools of the trade.

You sand the epoxy with 120 to 150 grit?
JC I do a coat of SPI epoxy over bare metal then do filler work. After the filler work I spay another coat of epoxy and then sand with 120 to make sure it is straight then I go to 150 until all lows are gone. This is on 50 + year old parts of course. Jumping up in grits to soon does not work for me as I cannot feel by hand like I use to.
Sometimes I cheat and use the National Detroit 900 on flat surfaces with 80 grit and then to 150 but not that often.

Whats your go to method?

I bought some dura gold paper and not impressed...I now use it to polish aluminum and stainless...

The Sunmight paper is a good value and top level stuff. Since some of the boys here turned me onto it, I have not used anything else for PSA.
