A little over ten years ago we sold the our former building and bought the one we are in now.
After we bought the building we spent the next six months doing about $250,000 in changes.
This guy stops in and says I want a job doing anything.
He had been a carpenter all his life. I hired him that day. (Andy did, I met him later)
It has now been ten years, and Steve has turned out to be a very valuable employee as he runs the manufacturing part and maintenance over the whole joint.
Took me awhile to get used to him as he was always asking why is this or that in the formula and over the years has learned what every items job is in a particular formula.
You just can't hire a guy like this every day.
Thank you, Steve.

Barry, You have always bragged on your guys. It is great to see a business that operates as a team with everyone pulling together.

I suspect that Steve appreciates you as much as you do him.

Happy anniversary guys! :))

John

Happy Anniversary Guys! Glad to have all the awesome products to use that comes from everyone at SPI. SPI ROCKS (as I always say). thumbsup3.jpg

Thank you guys and on behalf of Steve also.

John, my favorite saying is we have no bosses here, you all know your job and just get it done!
We are so lucky to have such great employees and because of this, I really don't need to be here and the place will run just perfect.
Down fall of so many business is the keep the pay low and they treat the employees like crap and then wonder why they only do the minimum or steal from them.
Employees make or break a business not some egotistic boss that wants to walk around and pound on his chest.

Congratulations to Steve and the whole SPI team!

Barry, companies like SPI succeed because they treat customers and employees like they are important.

Summery???
In the short time after I posted this on the tech line, I have probably had 20-25 comments made and the main one about pictures of people who answer the phone most of the time.
Should I post some pictures of the people that answer the phone so you see a live face. John, Andy, Jeb and Logan? (These four answer the phone 99% of the time)
I have mixed thoughts on this but good to put a face with people you talk to a lot being a jobber or people we ship to where we don't have a jobber?
What do you think?

According to etiquette, the traditional 10-year anniversary gift is tin or aluminum.
(So what do I give you? LOL)

If I had to work in a plant for a company an were not self-employed. I would like to work for SPI. I really enjoy talking with Barry on the phone and the other people, when I have a problem (only called tech line 1 time an normaly bug Barry ). He really sounds like an outstanding person honest as can be and I really like that and has some bitching product and the answers you need when you're in a jam. it seems like there's always and out of a bad situation to fix it. I like the availability whenever to get phone contact that is outstanding. What really pisses me off is when other people bad-mouth SPI and probably never even use the product before. I've read stuff on the internet about them not even making their own product and relabeling an blah blah blah. All bad stuff before I even bought the stuff when I was researching an thinking if I want to buy it and try it. I made the right choice and bought it and tried it. I like how others like the blame the product when it was really them using it incorrectly when a situation occurs. Keep up the great work everybody at SPI Barry keep on,keeping, on being a great person. Yeah he paid me to say all that good stuff I'm still waiting for the check .just kidding I said it on my own free will matter fact when my car is done I hope SPI has some stickers cuz I'd like to put some on my windows of my car and help advertise. And if you had the color of paint I wanted for my car that would be going on my car and not House of kolor peace Mike from MN.

When I call my local jobber I cringe when the phone is ringing as to how they are going to act on the other end. When I call SPI to place an order its always pleasant, no attitudes like im bothering them. I always hang up wanting to order more!

It all starts at the top. Barry is a super guy, you don;t run into those kind of people everyday. Talk to him a few minutes and you can tell. All the guys I've talked to when ordering share the same pleasant attitude. Stuff like that is contagious. Rubs off on your employees, the same way negativity would rub off. I've shared this story before but I'll share it again if any of you are new here. I painted my Boss's C-6 Corvette a few years ago. He wanted to duplicate the semi gloss finish of a Lamborghini he saw. Balloon White Pearl. I had never used any SPI and thought that it would be a good one to try everything out on. Sunday afternoon I was getting ready to shoot the car after sealing it the day before. I had a question and rang the Tech Line then thought better of it and hung up. I didn't want to bother him and I pretty much knew the answer to my question. A couple of minutes later Barry calls me back. I had never talked to him before and he didn't know the number but he calls back just the same. Ended up talking to him for almost a half hour. Tell me where you find support like that these days. Short answer... You don't.:)

Thanks Barry and Crew.
