1.7 nozzle ?

Ok I understand a 1.7 nozzle is more suited for spraying primer. But has anyone ever used a 1.7 in spraying base coat? I had ordered a Astro euro pro 1.03 HE
but in fact ordered a 1.7. I called the same day to change the order & I was told it was already in there system & could not be changed. So I now have a 1.7.
I plan to order a 1.3 gun in the future but I have a small job I want to finish & was wondering if I could get a decent finish with what I have?

I know you wont have a problem spraying a single stage thru it. You will be cutting down your fluid adjustment, but does work. We are spraying our latest concoction of intercoat, candy and flake thru the 1.8 to get the same finish our samples came out as.

i dont see why it would be a problem. my base gun is a sata 1.5 and that works fantastic. you will prob need to choke it down a little but it should be ok. it is an astro though so not the best no matter what the tip size is.

I know I am a year late but Astro sells needle/nozzle sets for $ 53.66 +s/h directly through them. I recently inquired and got the following part numbers:

EUROHENAR 1.3mm NOZZ ASSY
EUROHENFR 1.4mm NOZZ ASSY
EUROHENBR 1.5mm NOZZ ASSY
EUROHENCR 1.7mm NOZZ ASSY
EUROHENER 1.8mm NOZZ ASSY
EUROHENDR 1.9mm NOZZ ASSY

I know it's not the best gun on the market but is affordable and has good reviews from hobbyists so I am considering it.
BTW, how did the gun work for you?
