Would like some advice and opinions

Many years ago, I was in the restaurant business. I leased an thriving restaurant with all the equipment. I grew up working for my dad in his restaurant so I knew what to expect. Or so I thought. Restaurant was open 7 days a week. I was there 7 days a week 10 to 12 hours/day. The biggest...

    Use SPI epoxy on engine?

Got my 327 engine back from my engine builder and it has been sitting on engine stand for some time. He used rattle can engine paint on the engine. He is a good engine builder but not a good painter. What is the best way to strip the rattle can paint and prep the engine for re-paint. Is it...

    Math will save your Life

My dad owned a restaurant when I was growing up. I started flipping hamburgers, stuffing hot dogs and running the register at an early age. Trust me, he did not cut me any slack. I cleaned the toilets, washed dishes, cleaned up the parking lot, washed windows, mopped floors and anything else...

    FedEx Ground For The Win

Had an order of engine internal parts (big order of parts) delivered by FedEx. I live on in a residential neighborhood, not rural. My lot is sloped down to the street. Just happened to walk through the dining room and looked out the window and at the top of the steps near the street was a...

    59 Vette - continuation

There is only one person that has to be happy with your end results and that is you. I love survivors, drivers, back yard hack jobs and most of all, home built cars. These are the kind of cars we had growing up in the '60s. We had to learn mechanical skills to keep our cars on the road. Same...

Rusty, how have you handled Photobucket?

I had given up on ever being to retrieve my 100s of pics after Photobucket held us (it's users) hostage. About a month ago I saw where our accounts had been reinstated as "free". Sure enough, I was able to log on and all my pics are there. I believe Photobucket was threatened with a class...

    Spraying Tri-Coat Paint

Chris, I cannot thank you enough for your detailed procedure. I really appreciate it. I used the term "inter-coat" which was not what I meant. What I should had used was "mid-coat" which you explained (pearl-coat). Your time and effort will not only help me, but will certainly help others on...

    Spraying Tri-Coat Paint

I have sprayed SS and BC/CC but never Tri-Coat. Somebody scratched and dented the rear driver's side door on my 2011 Ford Expedition EL. Color is white platinum tri-coat. Questions: What color primer to use? (if it matters) I am thinking gray? After base coat, how do I know what is too...

Sharpe Titanium T1 - Fluid needle packing replacement

The fluid needle packing looks to be some kind of white rubber or plastic (kind of like flexible nylon maybe) the needle is loose inside the packing. Definitely does not look like it would seal. Thanks for the reply Barry.
