Yes Chris, the gold emblems on the Toyota Sequoia. It's an older one, I think it's a 2001?

Hi guys, just wanted to know what you use to paint exterior emblems. I'm working on a Toyota Sequoia that has gold exterior emblems that are fading. What type of paint would make them look correct, or do I just need knew emblems? thank you

    clear coat

I had an error with a blotchy spot in my base, and customer wants it repaired. I thought I read somewhere that fresh, few day old clear can be cleared over without sanding or scuffing...is this true? I've always resanded before applying any more base or clear.

Jim, have you had similar experiences with other color epoxies losing their luster over time?

    New Bumper Prep

Hi guys, how are you prepping your aftermarket, already primed bumper covers? I typically clean with 700, scuff with scuff paste and gray scotch pad, thoroughly clean with 700, epoxy as a sealer and then base/clear. Do you guys ever add adhesion promotor over aftermarket bumpers that have been...

    Compressor oil

As Jim stated compressor oil is non detergent. I believe that non detergent is a better lubricant than detergent oil. There isn't a need for detergents, as it's a non combustion pump, and therefore, no byproducts of combustion for detergents to be necessary.

    Universal Clear

Any advantage to buying new hardener, if the old hardener cures out? Does hardener lose strength over the years?

    Universal Clear

So it sounds like the activator will either work or will not work? If I mix some in a mixing cup and it cures out, is it as strong as buying new hardener? Or does it not as strong because it's old?

    Universal Clear

I have some Universal that's about 3-4yrs old from a project that I completed a few years back. Does clear coat lose it's strength or get old? I understand the activators can kick and get seedy and not work as well. If the hardener looks fine and sprays fine, is it still weaker than it was when...

    Tekna basecoat gun

A new Devilbiss DV1 will be their latest basecoat gun, and was debuted at Sema. I think a DV1 version for clear coat will follow. Currently the blue basecoat gun, and gold colored clear coat gun get great reviews.

    Fiberglass Jeep TOP

I think the Jeep tops are actually SMC, who makes the best material to repair SMC? I was going to use SEM 2-part repair material with fiberglass mat. Can I spray matte black over Raptor Liner?

    Fiberglass Jeep TOP

I have to do a fiberglass repair on the bottom edge of a 1989 Jeep Wrangler fiberglass top. I am also changing the color from a tan color to matte black. What do you guys use to restore the "textured look" in the fiberglass, before applying a matte black finish? I'll probably sand with 180 and...

    Universal Clear sanding and bufffing?

Chris, do you use 800 on both 1st and 2nd rounds of clear? I would think that round 2 would lay out so well, that you wouldn't need to start with 800 grit. Are you using Universal?
