2019 Toyota Cement IH5

I have a guy who wants me to paint his truck can with this color.
Can anyone tell me if this is a simple base coat or if it needs a specific shade of sealer under it?

This the color '68? If so overall or a repair (blend)? Either way I'd simply use a standard gray or at most lighten a standard grey sealer a touch. Should be simple to spray as it's non metallic (I think) like several of those colors on Tacoma's are now. Doing collision repair 90% of the stuff I was blending I just used a standard grey sealer. If you shoot it till you get coverage then the color of the sealer really doesn't matter (to a point).

Thanks Chris.
It is a full paint job but just got a text that they prefer another color now.
My concern is that some of these newer paints are more like tri-stage. They need a foundation color before the final coats.

Once you or your jobber look it up it will be clearly defined as to whether it is, or is not. If it is (or any other color for that matter) then what is needed is clearly defined. I haven't run into any 3 stages that needed that. There are some 4 stage OEM colors out there that need something similar to what you describe, Mazda Soul Red is one that comes to mind. Short answer, If it is needed it will be made clear in the Mix software.

I just watched the gunman guy spray mazda soul red as I ate lunch.
2 piece bumper, top piece white, bottom black. Covered good. How's that?
Besides whole bumper coming out a shade light, I'm surprised black & white matched.

So they ended up ordering Dodge Destroyer Grey code PND.
Kept asking me what I thought about it. I said, "This is entirely your call so make up your mind." The last thing I would do is pick a color for someone's vehicle. LOL

Yeah, that Chrysler PDN (called Ceramic Gray in Standox) ought to be a 2-coat coverage color, so just go with any grey primer, it won't matter at all.
