2k Curing

Sprayed a couple coats of regular 2k. The car cannot be moved to the sun. Would it be beneficial to crank the heat, I can easily maintain 80, on it for a couple days to help with curing good before sanding?

Hi, Say08. I'm totally new at this so take my answer for what it's worth (not much), but I've followed the tech manual which says to wait 30-60 minutes prior to sanding. It doesn't give a temp for the 2K that I remember, but I keep my garage at about 68F and I wait at least 60 minutes prior to sanding. I haven't any any problems and it hasn't appeared that the paint was wet or otherwise not set up fully.
I've done as many as 4 coats (5 minutes between coats, again, per the tech manual) and have had the same experience.

Thanks for the reply, I have done that on some daily driver stuff but this is a bit past that. I just want to make sure I can get as much of the potential shrinkage that could happen done to eliminate any issues down the road.

Over kill would be leave heat on for 12 hours after shooting but make sure metal temp is good before you do.

Ok thank you. I usually get metal temps to 70 before spraying anything. I left heat up all night. I usually leave it on 65 so it will be weekend before I sand it. Thank you for the products and feedback.
