FedEx Ground For The Win

Had an order of engine internal parts (big order of parts) delivered by FedEx. I live on in a residential neighborhood, not rural. My lot is sloped down to the street. Just happened to walk through the dining room and looked out the window and at the top of the steps near the street was a large box. FedEx lazy guy left the box in the yard. If the parts had gotten wet they would have been ruined. I went online and left a scorching complaint. The FedEx guy slows down at STOP signs and cruises through the neighborhood (lot of kids here) too fast. Since this incident, they are polite and usually ring the door bell. I have never had a problem with UPS even when they have to lug heavy car parts up to the door.

Wanted to add another reference point on Fed-ex. LAst SPI order as I mentioned above was delivered to a house a mile away for me. Well, last week I had some window blinds delivered, got the email stating "left at front door". Long story short, the guy dumped the package in the street gutter at the end of my driveway!
Barry, I sure hope you offer an alternative to Fed-Ex. I have about 50% satisfaction rate with them and about 100% with UPS. Maybe 95%+ with P.O.

We ship 95% FedEx BUT we have people in some areas that hate them so we mark the file UPS only, ITS YOUR CHOICE!!!
Post office is a no-no with this stuff.

Same here in Baton Rouge. I've got it the next day once. Technology. It's a hell of a thing.

FedEx does seem to be spotty as far as their delivery goes. I get my orders earlier in the day with Fedex compared to UPS but..... FedEx ground uses contractors for delivery and I have had some really good ones but also some pretty bad ones. For a period of time they were dumping my packages at the garage door instead of bringing them up to the dry porch.

It has been better lately.

My personal thoughts are Barry needs to use what ever service will allow him to continue to offer the free delivery and quick service he has historically been able to provide. Even though I tend to prefer UPS, I am tickled to death to receive the service I get from SPI with either company.

I will say there's no point having free delivery if it gets delivered to someone else! < I got lucky on my last order, the house a mile away where FedEx delivered just happened to know my wife so they bought the stuff over the next day, but FedEx were totally unhelpful with locating the order before that.
