Als Bedliner

Sprayed the underside of a 8' bed yesterday with SEM Rock-it. It's a little cheaper than the Sem Pro-tex. It's a relatives truck and he picked it up at the local jobber. I told him to get 2 kits because one just isn't enough. Jobber talked him into 1 kit. It did the job but barely. This is the bottom of the box so a lot less square footage. 2 kits would have been nice with plenty of coats and thickness. Everything is covered but not how I'd do it. It's a grainy style texture that is rock hard. Reminds me of the old Body Schultz style texture.

We bought 3 of the last kits from SPI to do inside the bed. He bought 2 and I bought 1 for my hoarding shelf. I have a feeling he might be into the 3rd by the time the tailgate is done. I used to use 2 SPI kits for a short bed. I didn't feel that the mils were very thick either. No where near as thick as the Line X in my own truck.

Any pictures to post? So far judging the pictures I have seen I will stick with the Upol Raptor. The 67 CJ5 I sprayed with it is still going strong and looking great according to the owner .

Anybody out there have an opinion on LinerXtreeme http://linerxtreeme.com/? I used it years ago on a Jeep tub with good results. Intending on using in on my 72 camaro underbody over SPI Epoxy. Also looking at these latex based lizard skin type products over Epoxy. Is it ok? Al's has a product called HNR (Heat noise reducer).

I really dont want anything to do with a latex paint outside anything I paint. I can deal with the lizard skin inside, well, just like a house, but outside its gonna take a long time before I choose latex over an oil based product.

Im sure Lizzard Skin is latex based, but regardless, I only use water based products for inside use.

I had the same struggle. LATEX in my car??o_O. Considering what it is exposed to on the exterior of homes and that the good stuff holds up pretty good it could be a viable option. I still feel more comfortable with an acrylic enamel. I bought some of the ceramic "microsheres" (the part that makes lizard skin a heat reducer). I plan on mixing it with JD blitz Black and spraying it over SPI Epoxy on my interior next week. We wil see..
