Double shot

Forgive me I'm sure this has been beaten to death before. I've found a few threads on but I'm still a little fuzzy.
In my picture below I was just mock measuring out how I wanted to mix up a small batch of sealer to shoot a spareally fender to practice. I'm going to shoot for about the 25% range. Just eyeballing it, in the PPJ it said to add a double shot glass (2oz) to a quart (32oz) of activated epoxy. Here in the mock up I'm only mixing about 12oz of activated epoxy. I added a double shot and it obviously added 2oz for a total of 14oz But in 32oz of activated epoxy that would be not very much. Does that seem right?

If I do it again using the graduated numbers only for an easier comparison. 5 parts epoxy, 5 parts activator (for a total of 10 parts that we will call 100%)
Wouldnt it get 3 parts (reducer) for an exact 30%? That's about 6oz when the PPJ says only a 4oz (double shot glass) for even more activated epoxy?

I think you are confusing yourself unnecessarily by trying to figure quantity's with the shot glass. It's easier to figure if you go by percentages. Like the tech manual says "To use the epoxy as a paint sealer, reduce it 5-50%". So for 12 oz of mixed epoxy you would want to add anywhere from 0.6 oz to 6 oz. I like reducing it 10%, when using it as a sealer as I find it covers better than when it's reduced further.

This is my logic haha. My biggest concern is for it to lay down smooth and not have any issues and go straight to base/ clear. I'm going to test on a spare fender for my 68 before I seal the 67.

I'm going to start with 10% and see how It lays down. Do you lay the sealer down medium/ wet? I'm concerned with dry spray as I tend to move/spray on the faster side
